Trust – the currency of our time
Trust is one of the most important elements for making my day and each project successful. This article connects personal thoughts on trust with Boris Thomas’ book and the DSAG guidance on future-oriented analytical platforms.
The invisible bond: trust as the heartbeat of every relationship
Trust is one of the most important elements for making my day and each project successful. Do you know the moment when children run to their father after a drama? My son is sure that in dad’s arms everything will be alright again.
I know that I can only help with the small things and cannot protect my little Henry George from every hardship of life. In today’s world I am endlessly grateful for my comfortable situation, yet appalled by the suffering that happens at the same time. Wars, flight, hunger are simply unnecessary in my eyes.
My children sense with fine antennas when words and deeds do not match. There are so many charlatans who dress their intentions in polished rhetoric. Have you ever been drawn into the spell of such a speech? The following days, weeks or months then show that it was only empty words, and the magic is gone.
For me, trust is the key to a productive relationship. I have known that for a long time. Fortunately I found this necessary trust in my family, colleagues, partners and customers. The moment it was withdrawn from me, it was time to reorient.
Boris Thomas’ new book: TRUST – the trust revolution
How success and inner fulfilment become possible again at every level
And as if it could not be otherwise, Boris Thomas – a valued mentor of mine – has just published his new book on exactly this topic!
I met Boris two years ago at a seminar with Alexander Christiani. Since then I have enjoyed his impulse talks and newsletters three times a year. He does not do pretty marketing, but he speaks in authentic messages.
And that is exactly how he made his Lattoflex slatted frames known around the world. Simply “beds with backbone.”
The book was published on 29 February 2024 and I could hardly wait to hold it in my hands – and it is a clear purchase recommendation for you as well!
DSAG guidance “Future-oriented analytical platforms”
Das teuerste Problem in Unternehmen ist nicht Datenmangel. Es ist Entscheidungschaos.
Wir verwandeln Chaos in belastbare Entscheidungen, die Geld schützen, Tempo schaffen und umgesetzt werden.
I want to return to a topic close to my heart from last year: the DSAG guidance “Future-oriented analytical platforms”. In the DSAG (German-speaking SAP User Group), very different users come together and share their experience. What works well? What should you rather leave alone?
I do not know how it is for you. For me, SAP’s strategy and execution in Analytics is not always easy to follow. Announcements were made (Design Studio, Blueberry, SAC “feature complete” in two years …) that were made obsolete within months by new announcements. For customers who invested trusting SAP’s reliability, this often created a difficult situation.
In my view, SAP Analytics software is often the right choice. But there are further use cases that other products solve better. Already from that insight I recommend a hybrid architecture. And because nobody can reliably foresee further development, it is worth betting on more than one technology.
Want to go deeper into the advantages of hybrid analytics platforms? Then download the guide from the DSAG.
And by the way: DSAG lives from active participation in the working groups – that is why we particularly welcome your feedback! This exchange is exactly what creates trust in my eyes.
